That commitment includes keeping you, our customer, informed about regulations related to various Henkel branded products you purchase such as OSI Pro-Series®, PL®, Loctite® and Polyseamseal®. This document specifically addresses the regulations that reduce Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) content for various types of consumer products, including sealants and adhesives.

In keeping with our commitment, this document announces three states which have newly adopted VOC regulations: Connecticut, Ohio and Massachusetts. These regulations become effective January 1, 2009.

To help identify the affect VOC regulations have on your business, refer to the attached document which provides answers to the most common VOC questions. Please reference the attached list of Henkel products which are impacted, and plan to replace them with the recommended VOC-compliant Henkel alternatives.

While some solvent-based sealants are affected, there are exceptions. You’ll note that clear, paintable, water-resistant caulking compounds such as OSI ® Quad™ Sealant – Clear and roof sealants like ROOFTeQ™; RT-1000 Eastomeric Roof Sealant clear and black, and RF140 Roof & Flashing Sealant are not referenced as VOC non-compliant. These products fall under specific exemptions.
